Vijay krishna D was born in Mysore, Karnataka. He hails from a family of eminent musicians, Bellary brothers.

His initial training in Carnatic classical music was under the tutelage of his mother Smt Anasuya Dwarakanth, who is also an established Carnatic vocalist in Bangalore.

He learnt the Western classical Piano and has appeared for a number of examinations conducted with an affiliation to ‘The London College of Music’ & ‘Trinity College of London’.
